Cardiff – 18th February
Woking had 4 gymnasts competing in the Men’s Welsh Championships; Joshua Porter, Joel Ireland, Oliver Porter and Ben Porter. Unfortunately Jamie Lewis hurt his wrist in podium training on High-Bar the day before the competition. We wish Jamie a speedy recovery.
Ben Porter competed in the Under 16 age category. Ben performed some lovely routines on High bar, Pommels and Vault, but a few errors on the other apparatus proved costly with Ben finishing 12th scoring 63.95.
Oliver Porter competed in the Under 18 age group. Oliver performed great routines on Floor, Rings, Vault and P-Bars, but again a few errors on the other apparatus meant Oliver finished just off the podium in 7th, scoring 70.968.
Joshua and Joel competed in the senior age category. Both gymnasts performed well finishing 11th and 13th respectively.
All the gymnasts were trying out new routines with upgraded skills. With the English and British Championships coming up soon, the guys have learnt valuable lessons moving forwards.
