ABOUT US

OUR HISTORY

Our Club history dates back to 1967. Having started life as Pyrford Gymnastics Club, the Club quickly outgrew its premises, moving around Woking Borough to Horsell and then to Monument School.
In 1984, the Club changed its name to Woking Gymnastics Club, reflecting its commitment to the local community and moved to a new facility at Kingfield Sports Ground where we remain today.

Ross Brewer  was a three times British Champion in Men's Artistic Gymnastics. He won two gold medals at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games.

Kelly Hackman competed for Great Britain at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Kelly and her parents Ralph and Tricia decided to move house from Watford to Woking to be "nearer to the better facilities of the Woking Gymnastics Club".

Woking star, Grant Gardiner, represented Wales in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Delhi.

OUR CLUB TODAY

We have grown hugely since the early days and to satisfy the demand, opened a new satellite facility in 2020. Our Elite Training Centre, just a mile from Kingfield helps us to continue to provide high quality gymnastics coaching to over 1,500 participants every week. We now offer pre-school, recreational, additional needs, home education and squad gymnastics to both boys and girls of all ages and abilities through to adult gymnastics!

Our Boys and Girls squads attain success at the highest level, with many competing representing England, Scotland, Ireland and Great Britian.
