From 5 years old and up, gymnasts train and compete on 6 apparatus – Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and High Bar. Woking Gymnastics Club has a very long and proud history of producing some of the top gymnasts in the Country. There were successes in the early days with Ross Brewer, three times British Champion and two time gold medalist at the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Our current Men's Artistic Squad continue to strive for excellence with representation and medals at the British and European Championships, Commonwealth Games and World Championships. Most recently, at the 2018 Junior European Championships, gymnast Jamie Lewis placed second all around and won the floor title. In 2017, Jamie Lewis was also crowned Junior Youth Olympic Champion and British and English all-around champion.
Woking Gymnastics Club also has a number of our boy's squad members selected by British Gymnastics to join the National Squad in their respective age categories. View our National Squad members here.

Development Group
We select boys from pre-school and recreational classes. The boys selected can range from 5 years to 7 years of age. This is a trial group which trains for up to 6 hours a week. |
Mini Squad
Selected from the Development Group. These gymnasts train for up to 13 hours per week in preparation for the Elite programme and competitive gymnastics. These gymnasts stay in the Mini Squad until approximately 8 years of age. |
Main Squad
Gymnasts move into the Main Squad from the Mini Squad. This squad follows an Elite programme and competes in a number of national and international competitions each year. Individual training schedules are used to optimise training with morning, afternoon and evening sessions running up to 27 hours per week. |

Gymnasts train Tuesday - Sundays and entry into this group is through selection only with the gymnasts being chosen from our general pre-school and recreational classes. All gymnasts invited into this group must complete a trial before joining. Hours range from 4 to 27 hours per week.
These classes run throughout the full year. All gymnasts require insurance which is paid directly to British Gymnastics.
