Woking squad girls took the stage at the SE Regional Qualifier held at Guildford Spectrum on Sunday 8th April. Woking GC was represented by nine girls split into different age groups fighting not only to pass their respective grades but also trying to qualify for National Finals later this year.
In the early Round 1 Lily Clarke-Moss and Sienna Neep were the first to compete in National Grade 4 and they did not disappoint. Five for five clean routines for Lily Clarke-Moss and very well deserved 4th place All Around with a total of 62.700 points just 0.05 behind the bronze and grade passed with distinction as well as making the SE Regional team and going to National Finals later on in May. Her team mate Sienna showed some beautiful work throughout to pass her Grade with commended score of 58.900 pints as well as coming second in R&C. It was time for one of our youngest members Maggie Rees in Round 2 to take part at her very first Regional competition in Compulsory 5 and she did it with style. Some great work throughout including highest score on Bars – 12.950 and 10th place All Around for Maggie. To top the day up in Round 3 Annabella Higgins, after showing some classy and beautiful work took home Bronze medal in the All Around competition with a score of 59.950 points and qualifying for Compulsory 4 National Finals later on. Next up were our Compulsory 3 girls – Madison Childress, Farah Rothwell, Charlotte Barnard, Tomi Dada and Stacey Mapara and they were nothing short of brilliant. Maddie managed to grab the coveted All Around title in Compulsory 3 in very tough competition after posting an impressive total of 61.675 after five clean routines followed by her team mate Farah Rothwell in second with a total of 60.875 points thus both making the SE Region Compulsory 3 team. Elsewhere Charlotte came 7th All Around showing some poise and elegance, Tomi came 8th with a total of 56.325 and posting second highest score on R&C and Stacey Mapara finishing 10th All Around and passing her Grade. A massive well done to all the gymnasts and their coaches and thanks to all the parents and friends who came and support us.
