The Guildford Spectrum hosted yet again the National Age Groups Finals on the first weekend of November for girls born in 2009, 2008 and 2007. Three age groups and plenty of talent met together after a mighty regional qualification, where only the top 4 girls in each region make the team for National Finals.
The South East team were in Round 2 on Saturday 3rd November led by Woking’s rising star Farah Rothwell. Vault is always good piece to start with and Farah did not disappoint producing massive Vault to score 12.750 points, followed by bars, where Farah went clean showing determination. A beautiful beam packed with difficulty and style and greatly appreciated by the judges with the 3rd highest score of the day – 12.600 and a classy floor to finish. Four for four clean routines to finish in 9th place in Great Britain in Voluntary Level 3 with a total of 48.100 points. To top up the fantastic day Farah had, she helped the team to finish 4th place in the team event in a very strong line up. Adding the Compulsory Level 3 National Finals earlier on in the year, Farah Rothwell finished in 10th place all-around combined score in Great Britain in her respective age group with a total of 108.150 points. Next up on Sunday was Annabella Higgins in Level 4 as part of the South East team. A thrilling start on bars followed by beautiful, classy and elegant work on beam and floor, where she earned – 11.950 for beam and 11.150 points for floor and a powerful Vault to end up the competition. Total of 46.650 points and 35th place All Around in Voluntary Level 4 National Finals in a mighty line up. After adding up her score from the National Compulsory 4 Finals Annabella progressed to a fantastic 24th place in the country with a total of 105.325 points.
