Woking’s Joshua Porter travelled to Perth, Scotland to compete in the inaugural Home Nations Tournament as part of Team England. Alongside his English teammates, Josh competed against gymnasts from Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
He started well on the floor, sticking his first few landings and recovering well from a mistake on his final tumble to score 12.05. Onto the pommel horse where he performed a clean routine to earn a score of 11.133. Josh fell out of handstand on his longswing on rings but continued the routine and finished with a good dismount scoring 10.25. On the Vault Josh preformed one of the best straight Tsukaharas of his career to score a PB of 12.3. He was also awarded 12.3 for his tidy Parallel Bars routine. The competition finished on H-Bar and Josh was delighted to catch his Tkatchev and continue the rest of the routine for a score of 11.467.
In this, his first international, Josh finished with an all-around total of 69.50 enough for a 4th place finish. Five of his scores counted towards the team total and helped Team England take home the Gold medal.
