This was Woking Gymnastics Club’s first vets entry in 5 years and Woking were looking to take home some medals over the weekend. The women’s artistic team consisted of; Charlotte Hewett, Grace Oswin, Rebecca Wilson in the Women’s Artistic Novice Over 18 category and Kristina Lamble in the Women’s Artistic Intermediate over 30 category. Woking also sent 3 Women’s Pairs in the acrobatic side of the competition, with Jessica Spragg, Chelsea Mather, Emily Csizmazia, Kelly Tucker, Charlotte Hewett and Kristina Lamble.
In the morning it was the Novice over 18 competition with Rebecca, Charlotte and Grace from Woking. Unfortunately Grace suffered an ankle injury 2 weeks prior to the competition so only competed on floor, however with some excellent execution she managed to score 12.50. Charlotte competed on all 4 pieces, holding her nerve throughout the competition, finishing 4th all around with a score on 36.750. Rebecca competed on 3 pieces and thanks to coming first on beam by half a mark managed to finish in 3rd place scoring 36.900 and winning a bronze medal. Kristina competed in the Women’s Intermediate over 30’s competition, where she competed on all 4 pieces. With some great execution she finished in 2nd place all around with a score of 37.850, earning her the silver medal and the highest score on bars and beam in her category!
As the afternoon arrived it was time for the acro competition, with 3 teams from Woking. Charlotte and Kristina performed a good dynamic routine, but with small errors in their balance they finished in 9th place. Emily and Kelly had a fantastic balance routine but with a fall on their dynamic routine they finished in 5th place. The final pair from Woking was Jessica and Chelsea, who showed amazing difficulty and execution in both of their routines, finishing in 1st place and taking home the gold medal!
Congratulations to all participants and coaches involved!
