Woking had Grant Gardiner competing for Wales. Grant performed well in the Team Final but unfortunately too many falls cost the Welsh lads a medal finishing 4th with a team score of 240.75.
Grant still recovering from snapping his ACL and tearing his Rotator Cuff in his shoulder only performed basic routines. Grant made Parallel bar final finishing in 2nd place in qualification.
Grant unfortunately fell from handstand at the start of the routine in the Finals and finished 8th scoring 11.875.
Grant was crowned Northern European Champion in 2010 and if he can remain fit and healthy will have a very good chance next year to challenge for the title once again.
Well done to Grant for overcoming his very bad injuries and staying in the sport. He is a good role model to all athletes that suffer long term injuries and has shown the perseverance needed to comeback and compete.
Jamie Lewis competed in his 2nd International for Great Britain in the Bertiolozzi Memorial in Milan.
Jamie has just turned 12 years of age and due to his extremely difficult routines for one so young was competing in the U18 age category. Even though Jamie was competing against gymnasts 6 years older than himself he performed his routines masterfully with only a few small errors. Jamie finished the competition very well scoring 73.95 and finishing a very creditable 6th place.
Well done to Jamie.
