The first round on Friday saw the Boys category take to the stage. James Miller, Adam Siddeeq and Jasper Smith-Gordon were all competing in their first English Championship and all of them held their nerves and competed well. James finished 31st scoring 61.45, Adam finished 33rd scoring 60.95 and Jasper finished 35th scoring 59.4.
On Saturday it was the Senior age category’s turn to compete. Tom Defina, Harry Carter, Miki Chu and Bradley McBride competed for Woking. Tom performed very well on his first four apparatus but unfortunately made some errors on High bar and Floor. Tom finished 7th scoring 73.267. Harry injured his ankle a few weeks before the competition and only competed on four apparatus with reduced routines. Miki landed short on his vault landing and unfortunately had to withdraw from the competition. Bradley only competed on High bar and fell on dismount scoring 11.833.
The final round of the weekend was on Sunday and was the Junior age category. Woking had Jamie Lewis, Tobias Brewer, Tim McCarthy and Lorenzo Carrozzo competing. Jamie had a very good competition with only a few small errors on Rings costing him a Bronze medal. Jamie was competing in an U15 age group and finished an excellent 5th scoring 77.501 and picked up 2 silver medals on Pommels (13.533) and Vault (12.566 average). Tobias finished 23rd scoring 66.033, Tim finished 32nd scoring 61.300 and Lorenzo finished 36th scoring 60.066.
