Classes
General Club Classes are for children aged 5 to 16 years old. Our teenagers between 16-18 years old attend our ‘Teen Gym’ session which is our transitional class before they transfer to our Adult classes.
Our General Classes are packed with fun ways to learn recreational gymnastics. The children are split into age and ability groups with a ratio of four coaches to a maximum of 28 children. All our coaches are fully qualified and CRB cleared. Our classes are as follows:-
Beginners 45 mins
Basic introduction to gymnasts teaching the fundamental skills for the lower level badges
Novice 1 hour
Continuation from basic skills progressing through badge scheme
Intermediate 1.5 hours
Higher level of basic skills required and introduction to basic tumbling
Advanced 2 hours
Higher level Tumbling, Vaulting, basic choreography for girls, conditioning and body preparation for boys
Our gymnasts achieve certificates, ribbons and badges regularly under our in house badge system showing their gymnastics progress and have opportunities to compete in County and Regional recreational competitions as well as our own Club Festival held each year.
Woking Gymnastics Club is proud to be reigning champions at the Surrey Floor and Vault Competition for the 6th successive year. A tribute to our coaching techniques and our gymnasts!
Children who show an exceptional aptitude to gymnastics are invited and given the opportunity to trial for a place in our General Competitions Squad or in our highly successful Elite Squad.
