On Saturday 25th April the men’s Elite Grades were held at Pipers Vale in Ipswich. All the very best young gymnasts throughout Great Britain were competing for a place in the Great Britain National Squad.
In the o8/u9 age category young Jamie Lewis showed signs of a future champion with a mature display of great gymnastics. Jamie finished 4th just outside the medals scoring 61.65. Jonty Mitchell also performed very well, making a few costly errors and scoring 54.00 finishing 18th.
Tobias Brewer competed in the u11 age group and showed what a fine competitor he is finishing 3rd only 0.5 from 1st. Great performance!
Connor Brookes finished 7th in the u13 age category.
Tom Defina and Harry Carter competed in the u14 age group. Both gymnasts competed maturely, performing some great routines. Unfortunately both made mistakes on two apparatus which proved costly. Tom finished 9th scoring 56.55 and Harry finished 11th scoring 51.55.
On Sunday 26th April the Regional Team Championship took place at Pipers Vale Ipswich. James Wythe, Richard Mochrie and Grant Gardiner were in the South East Team which finished an excellent 2nd, just behind the team from the East Region. A special well done to James, after many years of persistent injury performed brilliantly for the Team.
